Poet, playwright, and journalist Bakhshillo Rajab passed away today, April 15. The Writers' Union of Uzbekistan confirmed the news.

Born in 1950, Bakhshillo Rajab graduated from the Faculty of Philology at Bukhara Pedagogical Institute, now BukhSU. Throughout his career, he authored several books including "Xayolimda yulduzlar(Stars in My Mind)," "Rangin chaqmoqlar(Colorful Lightnings)," "Tong tarovati(Morning freshness)", "Orzularning oydin osmoni(Moonlight sky of dreams)", "Gullayotgan Ozbekistan bu(This is blossoming Uzbekistan)" and "Yurakka sigmagan dunyo(The World That Doesn't Fit in the Heart)." Since 1993, he served as the editor of the "Voice of Galaosiyo" newspaper, published by the Bukhara District Council and district administration. He was honored with the Order of "Labour Fame."

Notably, on April 13, journalist, poet, and statesman Erkin Samandar, who served in Uzbekistan, passed away.
