Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented awards to a group of entrepreneurs

Today, on August 18, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded a group of entrepreneurs at the international congress center.  This was reported by the President’s press service.

As you know, an open dialogue with entrepreneurs was held today with the participation of the President.  Such a meeting was organized for the first time on August 20, 2021.  At the suggestion of the head of state, this became a tradition and this date was designated as “Entrepreneurs’ Day” in the country.

At the beginning of the event, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the businessmen on this holiday and expressed his deep respect and best wishes.

“Entrepreneurs have been a great power in every country.  In Uzbekistan, we are also trying to develop the economy, create jobs, reduce poverty, and improve neighborhoods.  Who is the biggest contributor to this?  Entrepreneurs!  Each of you is a hero, selfless.  We are proud of you,” said the head of state.

As a result of business conditions, it was noted that this sector is developing consistently.  In the past year, the number of small entrepreneurs increased by 40,000, the number of medium-sized entrepreneurs by 2,000, and the number of large enterprises by 400.  Using the given reliefs, the annual turnover of 155 enterprises exceeded 100 million dollars in one year.  The volume of annual foreign investments reached 10 billion dollars for the first time.

In accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 18, 44 citizens who set an example in improving the economic power of the country and the welfare of the population were awarded with state awards.  At the festive event, they were awarded this title, order and medals.

Also, in accordance with the order of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on August 17, 126 advanced businessmen were awarded the “Active Entrepreneur” badge.
