Mirziyoyeva shared this news on her social media page.
"On behalf of myself and my family, I congratulated Diyora Keldiyorova on her great victory at the Summer Olympic Games. It is not for nothing that our compatriots compare her to Tomiris and Oybarchin. She has secured a place in sports history as the first female judoka to become an Olympic champion not only in our country but also in the Central Asian region," Mirziyoyeva stated.
Additionally, Mirziyoyeva mentioned that athletes like Diyora will be pivotal in several future projects aimed at combating gender injustice in society.
"We spoke with members of the national Olympic team of Uzbekistan in Paris and wished them success in their upcoming competitions. During our meeting, Diyora enthusiastically accepted my proposal to collaborate on various projects aimed at combating violence against women and gender injustice in society. She will be the face and participant of these initiatives in cooperation with the National Social Protection Agency," Mirziyoyeva said.
For context, Diyora Keldiyorova is currently the only athlete from Uzbekistan who has won a medal at the Paris Olympics. The Olympic competitions will continue until August 11.
