A criminal case was initiated against the former judge of the Sergeli district court

A criminal case has been initiated against the former judge of the Sergeli District Court in Tashkent city on criminal charges. Tursunali Akbarov, the press secretary of the Supreme Council of Judges, confirmed this information to QALAMPIR.UZ.

According to Akbarov, Sh.Yu., the former judge of the Sergeli District Court, is a suspect in a criminal case initiated under Article 208 of the Criminal Code (Inaction of Authority) and other relevant articles.

"However, the rumors suggesting the suspect was apprehended during a special operation are baseless and false. We have no information regarding the specific preventive measures taken," stated the spokesperson of the Supreme Council of Judges.

Additionally, Judge Sh.Y. had already been dismissed by the Supreme Council of Judges long before the initiation of the criminal case, leading to the premature termination of his term as a judge.
