Islam Jasimov, the inaugural deputy chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has passed away at the age of 66. This information was conveyed by the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Born on March 24, 1957, in the Tashkent region, Islam Jasimov served in prominent roles within the prosecutor's offices from 1986 to 2017.

In 1993, he received the "Honorary Label of the Republic of Uzbekistan," followed by the "Shuhrat" medal in 2001 and the "Dostlik" order in 2017. In 2020, he was honored with the "25th Anniversary of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS" medal for his substantial contribution to upholding the rule of law.

Having assumed the position of the first deputy chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2017, Islam Jasimov's funeral is scheduled for today, January 16, at the "Islam Ota" mosque during the noon prayer.
