Former player of “Dinamo” club of Samarkand passes away at 34

15571Sayriddin Gaffarov, a former player of the "Dinamo" club of Samarkand, as well as "Andijan" and "Surkhan" clubs, passed away on August 25 at the age of 34 due to a serious illness. This was reported by the press service of the "Dinamo" club.
During his football career, he suffered an injury and was diagnosed with an incurable disease. Despite the risks to his health, Gaffarov continued to play for various clubs in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. He underwent two surgeries in Tajikistan, with a third operation taking place in Tashkent.
It was reported that about a year ago, he began losing weight and strength in his arms, followed by his legs. Later, he also lost the ability to speak. Doctors diagnosed him with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
For context, Sayriddin Gaffarov was born on August 29, 1990, in the Sariosia district of Surkhandarya region. He began his career playing for the "Shurchi" team. From 2008 to 2010, he represented "Shurtan" and later played for "Dinamo" of Samarkand. In 2015, he also played for "Andijan." Additionally, he played for "Norin" and "Surkhan" and was active in several Tajik clubs.
It should be noted that Sven-Göran Eriksson, the former coach of the English national team and a prominent figure in many clubs, also passed away at the age of 76.
