A closed session of the Foreign Ministers of Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan has started in Samarkand

On 13 April, a closed meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Russia, China, and Iran and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Pakistan is taking place in Samarkand within the framework of the conference of ministers of countries neighboring Afghanistan.  This was reported by TASS.

Before the meeting, Sergey Lavrov took a picture with Sin Gang, Husayn Amir Abdullohian, and Rabbani Khar, after which the meeting continued in closed mode. 
The foreign ministers of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will also participate in the conference.  However, there was no information about their participation in the above-mentioned closed meeting.  The ministers of these 3 countries are not shown in the picture.

The participants will discuss the next steps to support the political settlement in Afghanistan, stabilize the humanitarian and socio-economic situation in this country, as well as the development of regional economic integration, and the implementation of transport and energy projects with the participation of Kabul.

It should be recalled that Sergey Lavrov came to Samarkand earlier.  In addition to the conference on Afghanistan, a ministerial meeting in the format of the Russian Federation - Central Asia will be held tomorrow, 14 April.
