Driver in Samarkand was caught after violating traffic rules 76 times with a fake license plate

A driver in the Samarkand region has been caught using the license plate of another vehicle on his car, according to the Regional Traffic Safety Department.

The driver, who was operating a Lacetti vehicle, had replaced his car's license plate with that of a Damas, allowing him to repeatedly evade speed limits. From January 2024 until now, the driver violated the speed limit 76 times, with all offenses captured by radar. The regional DIA RSD has filed an administrative report against the driver, and his Lacetti was impounded pending fine payment. The total amount of fines owed is around 50 million soums.

When questioned about his actions, the driver admitted to using a different license plate in an attempt to avoid detection by radar.

"I used a different license plate to bypass radar. Now I have to pay a 50 million soums fine. I advise others not to speed, especially near schools," the driver remarked.

Previously, a similar case occurred in the Baghdad district of the Fergana region, where a driver committed 82 traffic violations with a Honda Elysion, accumulating 34 million soums in fines. The vehicle was impounded, and the fines were collected with the assistance of EB officers.
