A Student from a School for the Blind was Hit by a Bus in Samarkand

The Press Service of the Regional Internal Affairs Department reported that a pupil from a school for the blind was tragically killed after being hit by a bus in the Samarkand region.

The incident happened on the 13th May this year at approximately 15:30 p.m. on the Beruniy-Gagarin highway passing through the “Rudakiy” neighborhood of Samarkand city.  The driver of an ISUZU bus, hit a pedestrian who crossing the road and caused a traffic accident.  It was found that the pedestrian was Q.D., born in 2004, and a student of Nurli Maskan School for the Blind No. 59.

The student, Q.D., who sustained injuries as a result of the accident, later died in the hospital on the 15th of May, despite the measures taken by doctors.  

In connection with this situation, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 266, Part 2 of the Criminal Code, and preliminary investigations are being conducted.
