Apartment building explodes in Samarkand (video)

Today, on September 9, an apartment in the city of Samarkand, Samarkand region, exploded due to a lightning strike, as reported by the regional emergency department.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., a flash occurred in an apartment on the 3rd floor of Building 86 on Beruniy Street in Samarkand. As a result, two citizens were hospitalized with injuries. Fortunately, there was no fire following the explosion.

Emergency management teams, including regional and city fire-rescue crews, law enforcement officers, the Prosecutor's Office, "Hududgaztaminot," and State Security Service employees, promptly arrived at the scene.

A preliminary investigation is currently underway, and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

It is worth noting that a similar incident occurred earlier in Andijan, where a gas-air mixture ignited in an apartment in the 1st sub-district of Andijan city.
