Husband who killed his wife with a hoe was arrested in Samarkand

A man who killed his 23-year-old wife with a hoe in the Samarkand region has been sentenced to 19 years in prison. This was reported in the 'Millar' program.

The incident occurred on July 14, 2024, around 9:00 p.m. in the Goyib Ota neighborhood of Urgut District. The man reportedly struck his wife on the head with a farm hoe. Relatives of the deceased stated that the argument leading to the tragic incident stemmed from the woman's decision to dye her eyebrows. The couple’s two children are now left without parental care. During the court hearing, the husband apologized, claiming the crime was unintentional.

The court found the accused guilty under Article 97, Part 2, Paragraph "j" (Deliberate Murder) of the Criminal Code, sentencing him to 19 years in prison.

Earlier, in the Kashkadarya region, a 58-year-old man accused his wife of infidelity, doused her in gasoline, and set her on fire in front of his daughters-in-law and young son. He was found guilty under Articles 25, Paragraphs "d" and "j" (Preparation and Attempt to Commit a Crime) and Part 2 of Article 97 (Intentional Murder) of the Criminal Code, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
