Man beats his 6-year-old stepson with a belt in Samarkand 

A video showing a man beating a young child with a belt has circulated on social media. The children's ombudsman has acknowledged observing the situation.

The incident occurred on June 23, this year, in the Samarkand region. The man, identified as T.D., born in 1988 and residing in the Toyloq district, has been married since 2024. He beat his 6-year-old stepson with a belt in the yard of their apartment.

On June 24, an investigation began. Minor O.E. sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. A forensic examination has been scheduled.

Additionally, a medical examination of the man by the Toyloq District Medical Association revealed psychological issues. He has been admitted to the psychiatric hospital in the Samarkand region, and a forensic psychiatric examination has been ordered.

"In connection with this situation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Toyloq district is conducting an investigation. Further information will be provided," the report stated.
