A resident of the Samarkand region has been fined 9 million soums for cutting down a tree. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Ecology.

According to reports, during a surveillance raid, it was discovered that a resident of the Tinchlik neighborhood in Pakhtachi district had unlawfully cut down a poplar tree in M.R.'s neighborhood.

An administrative report was filed against the individual under Part 1 of Article 79 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, which pertains to the illegal cutting, felling, damaging, destroying, or transplanting of trees, bushes, and other plants.

The offender was fined 25 times the base amount (8 million 500 thousand soums). In addition to the fine, M.R. will also pay 680 thousand soums to cover the damage caused to the flora.

It is important to note that a moratorium has been established in the republic on the cutting of trees and shrubs not belonging to the state forest fund, and cutting down trees without appropriate permits is strictly prohibited. Such violations are subject to legal penalties.

Earlier, in the Sergeli District of Tashkent city, a citizen who cut down a single tree was fined over 17 million soums.
