Earlier, there were social media reports indicating that a woman had plunged into the water with her two young kids.

Hayot Shamsutdinov, the spokesperson for the Prosecutor General's Office, informed QALAMPIR.UZ that the bodies of a 4-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy were recovered from the "Dargom" canal in Toyloq district. The search for the woman is currently underway.

According to him, on April 15, 2024, a resident of Urgut district reported to the DIA about his daughter-in-law, I.Ya., who had left her Samarkand residence with her two children in an unknown direction. On April 16, the bodies of the children were found in the Dargom canal within Toyloq district.

Efforts are presently being coordinated with regional MIA, DIA, and other agencies to locate the 24-year-old woman.

"On April 16, 2024, the Toyloq District Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case under Article 97, Part 2, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code in response to this incident," the report states.
