In the Samarkand region, individuals who possessed a large quantity of illegal pyrotechnics were apprehended, as reported by the regional HDIA information service.

According to the report, a swift operation was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Samarkand region and the regional administration of the State of Ukraine. During the operation, it was discovered that a person born in 1990, residing in 'Khojagunjoish' neighborhood in Samarkand city, was unlawfully storing fireworks.

It was found that within a house owned by a relative of the lawbreaker, situated in the Galaasia neighborhood of Samarkand city, a total of 1,903 pieces of pyrotechnics comprising 21 types were secretly stored. Their estimated value is 1 billion soums. It is reported that the individual in possession of these items intended to pay for them.

The fireworks have been documented as physical evidence, and an ongoing investigation is underway.

A prior incident revealed that 407 million soums' worth of fireworks were discovered in an apartment in the Fergana region.
