Erkinjon Okbutayevich Turdimov has been dismissed from his position as governor of the Samarkand region. The decree for his dismissal was issued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Turdimov’s dismissal was officially attributed to his transfer to another role. However, earlier reports on social media speculated that his departure was due to health issues. His press secretary, Manuchehr Mirzayev, told QALAMPIR.UZ that Turdimov’s health problems do not hinder his ability to fulfill his responsibilities as governor.

Erkinjon Turdimov was born on July 10, 1969, in the Kushrabot district of the Samarkand region. He graduated in 1991 from the Tashkent Institute of National Economy with a degree in economics. Turdimov has served as the governor of the Samarkand region since 2018.
