2945Saida Mirziyoyeva, Assistant to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has assumed oversight of a state program aimed at combating oncological diseases among women. She announced this initiative through her Telegram channel.
The program, developed over nearly a year by national and international experts, is rooted in international clinical practices. It mandates that women aged 30 and above undergo a human papillomavirus (HPV) test every 10 years, women aged 45 to 65 receive mammography screenings every two years.
To ensure comprehensive monitoring, the program incorporates electronic registration for every woman, ensuring that any concerning changes are tracked within the system. It also outlines specific treatment protocols and actionable steps.
“This is a significant step forward, and I will personally oversee the implementation of these changes,” Mirziyoyeva emphasized in her statement.
The program follows the President's decree, issued on November 22, titled "On Measures to Improve the Control System of Oncological Diseases Among Women". The decree stipulates that diagnostic and treatment expenses for oncological cases identified through screenings will be fully covered by the state budget.
Earlier, in August 2024, Mirziyoyeva was also tasked with overseeing the implementation of development initiatives in Karakalpakstan.
