On May 28, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan and eldest daughter of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a series of high-level meetings in Moscow with senior officials from the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation. She shared details of the meetings on her official social media platforms.

In her meeting with Sergei Kiriyenko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia, the two sides discussed key areas of Uzbek-Russian cooperation. It was noted that the relationship of trust between the leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia serves as a strong foundation for a strategic partnership and alliance.

Particular focus was given to youth and human capital development. Both parties expressed mutual interest in deepening cooperation in these areas, including through knowledge exchange and the implementation of joint initiatives aimed at supporting talented youth and fostering the next generation of leaders.

“There is clear positive momentum in educational cooperation, with an increasing number of Uzbek students pursuing studies at Russian universities. Branch campuses of several top Russian institutions are operating successfully in Uzbekistan,” Mirziyoyeva noted.

During her meeting with Alexei Gromov, also a First Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration, discussions centered on cooperation in the information sphere. Key topics included the regulation of digital platforms, combating disinformation, promoting responsible journalism, and advancing collaboration in cybersecurity. The two sides confirmed plans to hold practical consultations in Tashkent.

“In an era of rapid media transformation, creating an objective and stable information environment is of particular importance,” said Mirziyoyeva.

Issues related to labor migration and cultural diplomacy were also addressed. Both parties stressed the need for a balanced approach to these topics in the public discourse and discussed launching joint humanitarian initiatives to promote mutual understanding and trust between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Russia.

Mirziyoyeva also met with Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the President of Russia, to discuss cultural and humanitarian cooperation—an increasingly important dimension of Uzbek-Russian relations.

“Special attention was given to joint efforts in culture, education, and historical preservation. The upcoming exhibition of Uzbek art at the New Jerusalem Museum and the planned Days of Russian Culture in Uzbekistan are vivid examples of the high level of mutual trust and interest between our nations,” she added.

It should also be noted that on the same day, Mirziyoyeva met with Anton Vaino, Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation. The meeting, held at the invitation of the Russian side, focused on the current state and promising future of Uzbek-Russian cooperation, which continues to expand dynamically and deliver tangible results.
