On March 18, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan and eldest daughter of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, attended the opening ceremony of a retrospective exhibition dedicated to Ural Tansykbayev—an artist regarded as a symbol of Uzbek fine arts—in Kazakhstan. She shared this update on her Telegram channel.

The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan, the A. Kasteev State Museum of Art, and various museums in Uzbekistan.

“This unique exhibition allows us to trace the evolution of the artist’s career—from his early experimental sketches to his refined landscape masterpieces. Tansykbayev’s work is deeply connected with Kazakhstan. He spent significant time here and had a close friendship with Abilkhan Kasteev. I hope this exhibition further strengthens our cultural ties,” Mirziyoyeva stated.

Mirziyoyeva was accompanied by Gayane Umerova, Chairwoman of the Culture and Arts Development Foundation of Uzbekistan, and Aida Balayeva, Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan.

Ural Tansykbayev was a renowned Soviet, Uzbek, and Kazakh artist and one of the pioneers of fine arts in Uzbekistan. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR in 1963.

Tansykbayev trained under Nikolai Rozanov at the Tashkent Art Museum studio from 1923 to 1927 and later studied with Ivan Goryushkin-Sorokopudov at the Penza Art School in 1928–1929. He began exhibiting his works in 1929, focusing on the landscapes and people of Uzbekistan, Central Asia, and Kazakhstan.

In 1938, he designed the stage decorations for Kazakhstan’s first ballet, "Kalkaman and Mamir", at the Kazakhstan State Opera and Ballet Theater in Almaty. Between 1952 and 1954, he painted murals for the Uzbek pavilion at the VDNKh exhibition in Moscow. Tansykbayev is renowned for his landscape paintings and contributions to monumental fine arts. His influence on Uzbek art remains significant to this day.

On March 17, Mirziyoyeva also attended the ballet performance "Lazgi. Love and the Dance of the Heart" at the Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theater. Additionally, on March 18, she met with Yerlan Karin, State Advisor to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
