Mirziyoyeva shared news of the award on her official social media platforms.
The award was presented on June 9 by Carolyn Lamm, Chairwoman of the U.S.-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce. During their meeting, Mirziyoyeva and Lamm discussed the current state of economic relations between the two countries and outlined promising avenues for future cooperation.
The conversation also focused on key priorities, including expanding opportunities for women and ensuring equal conditions for all citizens interested in entrepreneurship. Both sides acknowledged the significance of the Uzbekistan–America Business Forum as an effective and unique platform for over 150 American and Uzbek business leaders to exchange ideas and launch new initiatives.
“I express my sincere gratitude for the award presented by Ms. Lamm, which recognizes our efforts to promote the principles of transparency, develop open dialogue with the public, and modernize information policy in Uzbekistan,” Mirziyoyeva wrote.
It should be noted that earlier on June 9, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with a delegation of leading U.S. companies on the eve of the Tashkent International Investment Forum. The delegation included U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Eric Meyer, Chairwoman Carolyn Lamm, Vice President of the International Development Finance Corporation Brez Bethany, and senior executives from Boeing, FLS, Visa, NASDAQ, Air Products, Franklin Templeton, Morgan Stanley, Coca-Cola, and other major corporations.
That same day, Saida Mirziyoyeva also met with Eric Meyer, Acting Director of the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State and Acting Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, to discuss bilateral cooperation in education, trade, and women’s empowerment.
