A 15-year-old Uzbek teenager stabbed a 42-year-old compatriot in St. Petersburg, Russia, according to a report by 78.ru.

The incident occurred late at night on October 19, 2024, on Pravda Street. The teenager attacked the 42-year-old man, reportedly due to jealousy. The victim was severely injured and hospitalized in critical condition. Police apprehended the suspect the following day, October 20, on Marat Street. Both the victim and the suspect are citizens of Uzbekistan.

It was revealed that the victim had difficulty getting along with the boy, who is his wife’s son. The altercation escalated into violence, leading the teenager to stab his stepfather.

The Main Department of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region confirmed the arrest of the 15-year-old boy, who is now being held in a temporary detention center on suspicion of causing intentional grievous bodily harm.

In a separate case, a 24-year-old Uzbek nanny was accused of causing the death of a six-month-old baby in St. Petersburg on October 15, 2024. The parents had left their infant in the care of the nanny, who accidentally dropped the child while bathing him. Despite her efforts to call an ambulance, the child was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital in a state of clinical death. Investigations are ongoing, and the authorities are considering placing the nanny in custody as a preventive measure.
