The incident occurred on June 24 at a sports field in the Krasnoselsky district of St. Petersburg. Reports state that a 25-year-old Uzbek man attempted to strangle a 12-year-old boy. He was subsequently arrested and charged with attempted murder of a minor.

On June 24, a 25-year-old Uzbek national, who is not registered in Russia, repeatedly grabbed a 12-year-old boy by the throat and attempted to strangle him at a sports field on Dobrovolsky Street. He was arrested on suspicion of committing a crime. The report mentioned that his attempt was thwarted by the intervention of bystanders.

Witnesses informed the police that a conflict erupted between the migrant and the teenager during a football game on the field.

The report states that when the suspect saw the police approaching, he denied the incident and blamed the boy. That evening, the boy was taken to a medical facility by his 38-year-old mother and was sent home after receiving treatment.

Following this, the boy's mother filed a complaint with the police regarding the attack on her son. An investigation is currently in progress.

It is worth noting that earlier in Russia, an Uzbek migrant was arrested and accused of providing false information about a terrorist attack.
