14418Mahmudjon Mabubzoda, a 30-year-old originally from Uzbekistan, was stripped of his Russian citizenship in Tomsk after failing to register with the Russian Military Committee, according to a report from "Shot".
Mabubzoda took his citizenship oath on August 28 but did not meet the requirement to register for military service within the two-week timeframe, reportedly due to long queues at the Military Committee.
When informed that he would lose his citizenship and be deported back to Uzbekistan, Mabubzoda reacted strongly, discarding his documents and refusing an offer to resolve the issue by signing a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense.
A video shows him expressing frustration, saying, "Return the citizenship, I don't need such citizenship," and indicating he was unfazed by a potential five-year entry ban into Russia.
Additionally, two former Tajikistani citizens, Shujoat Saidsharipov (31) and Nazirjon Hojiboyev (46), also lost their Russian citizenship for evading military registration but reportedly accepted their penalties without protest.
Since the start of 2024, over 1,200 individuals have lost Russian citizenship due to violations of migration laws. On October 30, Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokolsev reported a 1.5-fold increase in the number of foreigners deported this year.
Earlier in the Russian city of Perm, court hearings commenced for Oybek Soliyev, a citizen of Uzbekistan accused of attempted armed robbery. According to the investigation, he sought entry into the Northern Military District in Ukraine and arrived at the Zaitniki Otechestva state fund branch with a toy grenade resembling an F-1 anti-personnel grenade.
