2164According to the January 7, 2020 Cabinet of Ministers decree No. 6 titled “Improving the Procedure for Repatriating Uzbek Citizens’ Children Deprived of Parental Care Abroad,” working groups were established by the Community Safety Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Health, comprising experts tasked with facilitating the repatriation process.
It was noted that during the children's repatriation, the groups worked actively with Uzbekistan’s embassies in Russia and Kazakhstan.
All the children received medical, psychological, and social assistance upon their arrival. Of these:
- 18 children were placed in the Social-Legal Assistance Center for Minors under the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs.
- 3 children were transferred to the State Children’s Home in Tashkent.
Over the past three months, 52 children have been repatriated to Uzbekistan from abroad—a figure 2.5 times higher than the same period last year.
Earlier, 11 minors abandoned in Russia were also returned to Uzbekistan.
