On September 19, 2024, a 34-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan was convicted for the murder of his 44-year-old compatriot in the Novosibirsk region of Russia. The court sentence was issued following the investigation, as reported by the Novosibirsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, the two men, who had been drinking together in the Lenin district of Novosibirsk, became involved in a quarrel. During the altercation, the defendant used a stool to strike his friend multiple times in the genital area. In an attempt to conceal the crime, the defendant dismembered the victim’s body, placed the body parts in bags, and disposed of them in a deserted area near a pond.

The court found the defendant guilty under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder) and sentenced him to 10 years in prison. He will serve his sentence in a strict regime colony.

Additionally, the court ordered the defendant to pay 1 million rubles in moral damages to the victim's mother.

It is also worth noting that earlier reports revealed that a 35-year-old Uzbek man in the Moscow region was accused of repeatedly raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter for nearly a month. A criminal case has been opened against him.
