Russia may localize the production of civilian drones and their components in Uzbekistan. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced this at the fifth meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of heads of government of Russia and Uzbekistan.

"We are exploring the possibilities of organizing high-tech polymer production and localizing the production of civilian unmanned aircraft systems and their components," Mishustin stated.

In turn, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, noted that relations between Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation have reached a new level due to the far-sighted policies of Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin.

"The Russian Federation remains the main foreign economic partner and one of the largest investment partners of Uzbekistan. The volume of trade between Uzbekistan and Russia has increased two and a half times; at the end of 2023, it exceeded 10 billion dollars. According to our data, the volume of trade increased by another 30% in the first seven months of this year. Importantly, the composition of cross-supply is changing in terms of quality, primarily due to products with high added value. The leaders of our countries have set a new goal for us—to increase the volume of mutual trade to 30 billion dollars," he added.

It is worth noting that Mishustin recently visited Uzbekistan. According to Bekzod Hidoyatov, the press secretary of the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, the visit's agenda included holding the next meeting of the joint commission at the level of the heads of government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation, getting acquainted with the activities of production and industrial enterprises in Tashkent, and visiting other facilities.
