Uzbekistan cancels all flights to Kiev

On 24 February, the airline «Uzbekistan Airways» cancelled flights to Kiev due to the closure of Ukrainian airspace for passenger flights. The company's press office reported this.  

It is noted that due to the closure of Ukrainian airspace to passenger flights, HY – 3731/3732 Tashkent – Kyiv – Tashkent regular flights will be cancelled on 27 February and 2 March of the current year.
Passengers whose flights have been cancelled have the right to a refund of the full cost of their tickets at the place of purchase of the ticket, or to change their tickets free of charge upon resumption of flights.

The «Uzbekistan Airways» company will further notify passengers of any changes in the schedule, — the official report says.
Previously, due to the closure of Rostov Airport (Russia) for passenger flights, on 24 February, HY-9825 flight on the route Namangan - Krasnodar was forced to return to Namangan International Airport.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian military had launched a special operation in Donbass in eastern Ukraine. Putin justified this move with the request of the leaders of the pro-Russian separatist forces in eastern Ukraine.

According to the Advisor to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Kyiv was shelled by rockets.

Shortly after the outbreak of armed conflict, Ukrainian airspace was completely closed, and Russian airspace partially closed (only in the Rostov region).
