7287It was previously reported that tax inspectors in the Kashkadarya region were accused of detaining a restaurant owner after eating on credit and failing to pay. The State Tax Committee has now provided additional information regarding the incident.
According to the preliminary investigation, employees of the Kokdala District Tax Inspectorate dined at the restaurant owned by "Khondamir Welfare Interest" LLC on August 12 of this year and recorded the payment as credit, which violated the code of conduct for civil servants. The outstanding amount was settled on August 14.
As "Khondamir Welfare Interest" LLC had a tax debt of 8,272,730 soums, tax inspectors Q. Normurodov and A. Mamatov visited the establishment again on August 19. The company's manager, A. Yangiboev, resisted their actions.
"Following this, the tax officials submitted relevant documents to law enforcement agencies for legal proceedings. As a result, the Kokdala District Court sentenced A. Yangiboev to six days of administrative detention. Dissatisfied with the court's decision, Yangiboev appealed, and the punishment was subsequently reduced to three days,'' the report stated.
In response to the situation, a service inspection has been initiated.
