Propane gas becomes more expensive. The Competition Committee is investigating the situation

News of the dramatic increase in propane gas prices has been circulating on social media. The Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights has responded to this.

It is reported that the price of propane has increased from 4,800-5,000 soums to 6,000-6,200 soums at gas stations. This rise followed an increase in prices on the stock exchange.

The Competition Committee is conducting relevant studies on the situation within its authority regarding the filling and sale of liquefied gas products, which are to be transacted through commodity exchanges.

It is reported that additional information will be provided regarding the results of the study.

"Based on its functions, the Competition Committee has been consistently analyzing the sale of highly liquid products in the stock exchange. In particular, it has been predicting the potential for an increase in the price of liquefied gas and has communicated with the responsible regulator to take appropriate measures to stabilize its price," the message states.
