Former Presidential candidate becomes rector of Agrarian University

Narzullo Naimovich Oblomurodov has been appointed rector of Tashkent State Agrarian University, as per a decision by the Cabinet of Ministers. The announcement was made by the Prime Minister's press secretary, Bekzod Khidoyatov. 

In addition, Sevara Bakhodirovna Shokirova has been appointed deputy director of the Agency for Specialized Educational Institutions under the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.

Narzullo Oblomurodov, born in 1975 in the Samarkand region, holds an impressive academic and professional background. He graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in 1996 and pursued further studies in the United Kingdom, earning a degree from the University of Birmingham in 2000. Since then, he has contributed significantly to Uzbekistan's higher education sector, serving at institutions such as the Tashkent Financial Institute and the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry in roles ranging from research fellow to head of department and dean of faculty. In 2021, he ran as the Ecological Party's candidate in Uzbekistan’s presidential elections, securing 4.1% of the vote in the election held on October 24.

It is worth noting that Tulkin Teshaboev was recently appointed rector of Tashkent State University of Economics, also by a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers.
