Today, on September 6, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a phone conversation with successful athletes, para-athletic athlete Husniddin Norbekov and para-judoka in the next days of the Paralympic Games in Paris.
Para judoka Sherzod Namozov defeated his opponent in the final and won the gold medal. This was his second championship at the Paralympic Games.
Husniddin Norbekov won 1st place in the shot put competition in para-athletics with a result of 16.82 meters. Thus, he became the first Uzbek athlete to win the Paralympic Games for the third time.
In the conversation, the head of state noted that he watched their willful struggle with excitement and was happy that they brought another gold medal to Uzbekistan. On behalf of the people, he warmly congratulated the athletes and thanked their coaches and parents.
The champions expressed gratitude for the high attention and constant support.
