The President releases mysterious numbers on the outcomes of flood

17981This year, nine people have been reported to have perished as a result of major floods in seven regions of Uzbekistan. 245 houses and 19 bridges were damaged, and more than 450 head of cattle were killed. Today, 11 May, the president of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a statement at the meeting on the prevention of emergencies.
"Between March-May of the current year, due to heavy rains in Bukhara, Jizzakh, Namangan, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Syrdarya and Tashkent regions, about 15 major floods and landslides occurred. Nine people were killed. 245 houses, 19 bridges were damaged, and more than 450 head of livestock were killed."
This is due to the fact that for many years in areas with a high risk of floods and landslides, chaotic watering has been carried out “, –Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
In this regard, officials have been tasked to:
• establish 24-hour staffs and increase the number of rescue units on mountain rivers and streams;
• investigate and strengthen the emergency preparedness of riverbanks, reservoirs, and flood control structures;
• take measures to permanently relocate people living in hazardous areas to safe areas.
At the end of the meeting, the information from the officials, on the issues discussed was heard.
