Mirziyoyev talks Syria and Ukraine with Putin amid regional diplomatic efforts

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 11, according to the Kremlin press service.

During the call, the two leaders discussed the further development of the strategic partnership and allied relations between Russia and Uzbekistan. Special attention was given to the implementation of agreements reached during Putin's state visit to Uzbekistan in May 2024.

"The leaders also exchanged views on the current situation in Syria and Ukraine," the Kremlin's statement reads.

It is worth noting that earlier, on December 3, Putin held talks on the situation in Syria with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. On the same day as his call with Mirziyoyev, December 11, Putin also discussed the war in Ukraine with Hungarian President Viktor Orban.
