Mirziyoyev visits Imam Bukhari mausoleum in Samarkand

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Imam Bukhari mausoleum in Samarkand on May 28. During the visit, verses from the Quran were recited. The President’s press service confirmed the visit.
A new complex is currently under construction at the site to improve conditions for pilgrims. President Mirziyoyev reviewed the ongoing work and inspected the progress of construction.
The total area of the complex has been expanded to 44 hectares. The mausoleum, a mosque capable of accommodating 10,000 worshippers, and four minarets have already been completed.
During the visit, the Head of State was briefed on future developments in the complex. Officials noted the need to plant additional trees in the courtyard and along the walkways.
It should be recalled that President Mirziyoyev arrived in Samarkand on May 28 for a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Meloni is on an official visit to Uzbekistan from May 28 to 29.
High-level talks in Samarkand are expected to focus on further strengthening the Uzbek-Italian strategic partnership and expanding cooperation in various fields.
