President instructed to sell state shares in chemical plants

Today 21 September, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of the main indicators achieved and planned projects in the chemical industry.

It is noted that on the basis of large enterprises in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Fergana, Navoi, and Tashkent regions, 4 chemical clusters are being founded.  They will produce raw materials to complete products.  Currently, 14 projects worth $1.8 billion are under implementation and 29 projects worth $5.6 billion are planned.

The president said that in order to effectively launch the activities of these clusters it is necessary to create a project office, divide the available space into allotments, and attract private investors.

Instructions were given for the implementation of best practices and modern technologies in chemical enterprises, on the privatization of the State share in them.
In the current difficult global situation, the importance of a continuous supply of fertilizer to agriculture was emphasized.

Another area that is always in demand on the market is household chemicals. Currently, most of this demand is covered by imports.  Raw materials and quality are needed to raise the profile of local products.  Therefore, in this direction the task was set for the private sector, to provide them with raw materials, and to bring international brands.
