I am happy that the president supported my decision – about Norov's retirement

12810Vladimir Imomovich Norov, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and director of the Central Asia International Institute, commented on his retirement on his Twitter page.
"I have decided to retire after 45 years of work in government offices and foreign diplomatic missions. I am sincerely grateful that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev supported my decision," he wrote on his Twitter page.
For your information, Vladimir Norov was born on August 31, 1955, in the Bukhara region. He graduated from Bukhara Pedagogical Institute from 1972 to 1976. In 1983-1985, he underwent training at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Soviet Union. Regarding his work in management positions, he served as the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan twice, from April 27 to December 30, 2022. From January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2021, he was the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. From May 5, 2017, to December 31, 2018, he was the Director of the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the First Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. From 1996 to 1998, he worked as a state advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on interstate relations and foreign economic relations. Additionally, he served as the former ambassador of Uzbekistan to Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Belgium. Norov has been working as the director of the International Institute of Central Asia since December 30, 2022.
