President visits World War II veterans

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited World War II participants and labor front veterans today, May 8, and congratulated them on the holiday. The Presidential Press Service reported this.
According to the report, the head of state held a sincere conversation with Akmal Akramov, Vera Juravskaya, Hasanboy Khalmatov and Vladimir Alekseykov at the Central Military Clinical Hospital of the Armed Forces. He asked about their well-being and health, and separately acknowledged their difficult life paths and courage.

“You are living witnesses of history and symbols of resilience. Meeting such honorable people as you and listening to your advice gives us great spiritual strength. Our people are rightly proud of you. Today’s peaceful and free days, and the happy future of generations, are the result of your selfless devotion. Your exemplary life path is a true school of courage for our youth,” the President said.

In accordance with the presidential resolution of April 16 this year, special respect is being shown to war and labor veterans.

World War II participants, home front veterans and family members of servicemen who died while performing their duties during the years of independence are under the constant care of the state. In addition to material and moral support, they have been provided with preferential vouchers to the country’s best sanatoriums to improve their health.

“The Almighty has granted you a long life and the happiness of living with the respect of the people as a reward for your patriotism and selfless labor. Your prayers bring peace to our country and blessings to our work,” the President said.

During the meeting, the elderly veterans expressed gratitude to the head of state for the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan to restore historical memory and honor senior citizens.

Earlier, it was reported that Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Victory Park in the capital and laid a wreath at the Ode to Fortitude monument.
