Tashkent prepares for historic assembly with cargo vehicle ban

4045Starting today, April 4, until April 9, the movement of cargo transport vehicles in Tashkent will be temporarily restricted due to events marking the 150th-anniversary assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. This was announced by the capital's Road Traffic Safety Department.
During this period, cargo vehicles will be completely banned from the central streets. Drivers of all types of heavy and light cargo transport are instructed to use the Tashkent Ring Road. Drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance.
It was previously reported that for the first time in Central Asian history, Tashkent will host the 150th-anniversary assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. The event will be held at the Congress Hall complex in “Tashkent City.” Nearly 2,000 delegates from 180 countries, 15 observer states, and over 25 international and inter-parliamentary organizations are expected to attend.
The main theme of the meeting is “Parliamentary Action for Social Development and Justice.” Discussions will focus on issues such as poverty eradication, creating decent working conditions, promoting social inclusion, and increasing the participation of marginalized groups in decision-making processes.
