The interim prime minister of Pakistan also arrives in Tashkent

The head of the interim government of Pakistan, Anwar ul-Haq Kakar, has come to Tashkent to participate in the sixteenth summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), which is scheduled to be held in Uzbekistan on November 8-9 of this year.


Anwar ul-Haq Kakar was warmly welcomed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, and other officials at the Tashkent International Airport. After the welcoming reception, the high-ranking guest departed for his residence.


For information, the sixteenth ECO summit will take place in Tashkent on November 8-9, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Heads of state and government from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Turkey will participate in the event.


According to the agenda, the summit will address issues related to the further expansion of trade, economic, investment, transport, communication, and humanitarian cooperation, as well as improvements in the functioning of this multilateral structure within the framework of ECO.


As part of the summit program, Uzbekistan's leader will engage in a number of bilateral meetings.


The Economic Cooperation Organization was founded in 1985, with its permanent secretariat located in Tehran. The Republic of Uzbekistan has been a member of ECO since 1992. The previous summit of this organization was held in Turkmenistan in November 2021.


It is worth mentioning that in September of this year, when the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, traveled to the United States to participate in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, he also conducted talks with the interim Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar ul-Haq Kakar.
