Uzbekistan completes WTO accession talks with two more countries

3530Uzbekistan has successfully concluded bilateral negotiations with Pakistan and Thailand on its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). This was announced by Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the WTO, Ali Sarfraz Hussain, and Thailand's Representative to the WTO, Pimchanok Pitfield, on their LinkedIn pages.
"This protocol on the completion of market access negotiations brings the brotherly country closer to WTO membership," wrote Ali Sarfraz Hussain.
The Thai representative also confirmed that Uzbekistan had signed the protocol on its accession to the organization.
"We look forward to Uzbekistan's early accession to the multilateral trading system and believe that membership in the WTO family will bring more trade and investment to Uzbekistan. On a bilateral level, this is a confirmation of our desire to strengthen existing trade relations and further develop cooperation between peoples in the future," said Pimchanok Pitfield.
For reference, over the past two months, Uzbekistan has also completed WTO accession negotiations with El Salvador, the United States, China, and the Philippines.
