3791On November 20, 2024, it was announced at a meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, that Abdulla Aripov has been reappointed as Prime Minister of Uzbekistan for the third time. The announcement came after President Mirziyoyev reviewed the government's performance over the past five years, highlighted its achievements, and nominated Aripov for the position.
Deputies of the Legislative Chamber discussed Aripov’s candidacy, where he presented the action program for the near and long-term future of the Cabinet of Ministers. After further deliberations, the deputies voted in favor of his appointment through a secret ballot, confirming Aripov's reappointment.
Aripov's appointment marks his third tenure as Prime Minister over the last eight years. He first assumed the role in December 2016 when nominated by the Liberal-Democratic Party of Uzbekistan. He was re-confirmed for the position in January 2020.
Born on May 24, 1961, in Tashkent, Aripov graduated in 1983 from the Tashkent Institute of Electrotechnical Communication (now Tashkent University of Information Technologies) with a degree in telecommunications engineering. He holds a Candidate of Economics degree and is an Associate Professor.
Aripov began his career in 1983 as an electronics engineer at the Tashkent Telephone and Telegraph Station, working there until 1992. Over the years, he held various important positions, including Deputy Director of the foreign trade company "Ozimpeksaloqa" and head of the Ministry of Communications' Construction and Supply Department.
In 2002, Aripov was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Complex of Communication, Information, and Telecommunication Technologies. He also led the Communications and Information Agency of Uzbekistan from 2005 to 2009. By 2012, he returned to his role as Deputy Prime Minister, overseeing the Information Systems and Telecommunications Complex.
In recognition of his contributions, Aripov was awarded several prestigious honors, including:

- The II degree "Friendship" Order from Kazakhstan
- The II degree "Ismaili Somoni" Order from Tajikistan.
