Today 15 September, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shakhbaz Sharif arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the Samarkand Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

According to the information, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, and other officials at Samarkand International Airport received the high-ranking guest.

It is noted that the Pakistani delegation will participate in political, trade and economic and regional security-related meetings between the member states of the organization within the framework of the SCO summit.

It should be recalled that between 15-16 September the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will be held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The SCO Summit will be attended by the heads of State and government of Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Iran, Mongolia, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.

President of Mongolia Ukhnagaiin Khurelsukh, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, President of Tajikistan Imamali Rahmon, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Russian President Vladimir Putin have already arrived in Samarkand.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he would not participate in the summit due to the armed conflict on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.
