Responsibility for the illegal handling of pyrotechnic articles has been increased in Uzbekistan. On August 28, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the relevant law.

It is noted that the law amends the Code of Administrative Responsibility. According to these amendments, the social danger of offenses related to the illegal production, preparation, storage, transportation, dispatch, and export of pyrotechnic articles from Uzbekistan, as well as the illegal transfer or import of pyrotechnic articles into Uzbekistan, has been reassessed. Changes have been made to strengthen the measures of responsibility based on the nature and level of these offenses.

The law shall enter into force upon its official publication.

According to the amendments to the Code of Administrative Responsibility:

- For the use of pyrotechnic articles, the fine has increased from five times (1 million to 7 million sums) to twenty-five times (8 million 500 thousand sums) the base calculation amount.
- For the trade-in pyrotechnics, the fine has increased from fifteen times (5 million 100 thousand sums) to thirty times (10 million 200 thousand sums) the base calculation amount.
- For the import into or export from the Republic of Uzbekistan, or transfer of pyrotechnics, the fine ranges from thirty times (10 million 200 thousand sums) to fifty times (17 million sums) the base calculation amount.

Additionally, whereas previously the National Guard was responsible for taking measures in cases of illegal use of pyrotechnics, the detection of administrative offenses related to the handling of pyrotechnics has now been assigned to internal affairs bodies, specifically to prevention inspectors.
