Paris Olympians return to Uzbekistan today

The Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, held in France, have concluded.

Athletes from the Uzbekistan delegation secured a total of 13 medals—8 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze.

Boxers Hasanboy Dusmatov (-51 kg), Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev (-71 kg), Lazizbek Mullojonov (92 kg), Abdumalik Khalokov (-57 kg), Bahodir Jalolov (+92 kg), taekwondo athlete Ulugbek Rashidov (-68 kg), and judoka Diyora Keldiyorova (52 kg) were among the gold medalists. Additionally, Razambek Jamalov from Dagestan, who competed under the Uzbekistan flag in freestyle wrestling (-74 kg), also won gold.

Weightlifter Akbar Juraev (-102 kg) and taekwondo athlete Svetlana Osipova (+67 kg) earned silver medals. Bronze medals were awarded to freestyle wrestler Gulomjon Abdullaev (57 kg), and judokas Muzaffarbek Turaboev and Alisher Yusupov.

In the global rankings, Uzbekistan achieved a historic record in terms of medals, placing 13th overall.

The participants of the Paris Olympics return to Uzbekistan today, August 12. According to the directive of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, they will be given a ceremonial welcome at Tashkent Airport (Terminal 3).
