Paris 2024: Diyora Keldiyorova defeats current champion

Diyora Keldiyorova from Uzbekistan defeated the reigning Olympic champion from Japan in judo at the Summer Olympic Games hosted in Paris, France.
Keldiyorova advanced past the first round in the 52 kg weight class of the judo competition. In the second round, she faced Uta Abe, the champion of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, and eliminated her from the Games.
Keldiyorova will now compete against French judoka Amandine Bouchard for a place in the final. The match is scheduled to begin after 20:00 Tashkent time.
It is worth noting that Diyora Keldiyorova previously won the silver medal at the UAE World Championship.
