Man detained after assaulting his father (video)

In Kazakhstan’s Turkistan region, a man was arrested by police for repeatedly assaulting and mistreating his father, together with his wife, the Nur.kz reported.

According to the report, the man, a resident of the Shardara district, had regularly beaten and humiliated his elderly father.

Neighbors who witnessed the abuse secretly recorded video evidence but did not report it to the police. The video was only made public after the elderly man, weakened by the constant abuse, passed away. It was also noted that the son had been working at a local mosque.

According to police, the suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway, and a decision will be made based on its outcome.

“A criminal case has been opened in connection with this incident. The suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. All investigative procedures are being carried out, and an appropriate decision will be made upon completion”, the police statement said.

It is worth noting that earlier, a woman had reportedly beaten her disabled mother in Qarshi city of Kashkadarya region.
