Otabek Umarov reviews preparations for upcoming Olympic Cycle

4703On September 19, a meeting was convened to discuss preparations for the conclusion of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games and the forthcoming major competitions.
Attendees included Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov, Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia Otabek Umarov, General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee Oybek Kosimov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee Saken Pulatov, and Azizjon Komilov.
The meeting began with an evaluation of Uzbekistan's delegation's participation in the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris. Achievements and shortcomings were analyzed, and essential tasks were identified. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of executing the objectives set for the new Olympic cycle during a discussion with athletes and coaches on August 28.
The agenda also included preparations for the Tashkent 2025 Asian Youth Games, with a detailed review of the program and the sports involved. Additionally, plans for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Summer Asian Games and the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympic Games were examined. Key discussions focused on enhancing support for team sports and women's sports, improving the material and technical infrastructure of national teams, attracting experienced foreign coaches, and bolstering athletes' medical care.
