Uzbekistan national team midfielder Otabek Shukurov has signed a contract with the United Arab Emirates club Bani Yas. This was reported by the club’s press service.
“Bani Yas, in the presence of its executive director of football, Sayyid Saqr Al-Muskari, announces the signing of a contract with Uzbek footballer Otabek Shukurov. Shukurov is one of the most prominent midfielders in Uzbekistan. During his career, he has played for the Turkish Super League club Kayserispor and gained significant experience with UAE’s Sharjah. He later joined Al-Fayha. In addition, the player has made more than 80 appearances for the Uzbekistan national team,” the club said in a statement.
It should be noted that Shukurov last played for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Fayha. When his contract expired in the summer of this year, he left the team as a free agent. After that, he underwent treatment in Russia for an injury and has been training individually until now.
For reference, Otabek Shukurov has played for Mubarek’s Mash’al, Tashkent’s Bunyodkor, UAE’s Sharjah, Turkey’s Fatih Karagümrük and Kayserispor, as well as Saudi Arabia’s Al-Fayha.
Previously, another Uzbekistan national team player, Akmal Mozgovoy, also signed a contract with Bani Yas.
