A passenger bus caught fire on the Almaty-Tashkent highway

A passenger bus ignited on the Almaty-Tashkent highway overnight, March 1, as it passed through the Jambil region of Kazakhstan, according to reports from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan.

The ignition was attributed to a short circuit within the electrical system. Prior to the arrival of firefighters, 29 passengers disembarked and found alternative transportation.

Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries from the incident. Nine personnel and equipment were deployed to address the emergency.

It's worth noting that a prior traffic accident involving 26 vehicles occurred on the same Almaty-Tashkent highway.
