6546Yesterday, on February 20, the injured workers underwent surgery due to the collapse of the roof of a temporary structure in the metal preparation shop of the "Enter Engineering" company in Almalik. This was reported by the Almaliq Mining and Metallurgical Combine.
"A total of 30 Indian workers were injured in the accident. Three of them died on the spot, and 27 people were immediately provided with emergency medical care," the report stated.
Among them, four individuals received thorough medical examinations at the emergency medical center of Ohangaron district. They were given emergency aid and discharged from the hospital because their condition was deemed satisfactory.
The remaining 23 victims received emergency medical care at the emergency medical center of Almalyk city.
"Six patients were successfully operated on with the assistance of doctors from the Scientific Center of Specialized Emergency Medical Care of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Today, the six patients who underwent surgery are continuing treatment at the Republican Specialized Emergency Medical Research Center, and their condition is satisfactory," the report added.
It is noted that the remaining 17 victims are receiving treatment at the emergency medical center of Almalyk city, with their conditions ranging from moderate to mild. Almaliq Mining and Metallurgical Combine have assigned separate doctors to all the victims, ensuring quality medical care.
"The Ministry of Health and the Republican Scientific Center have been involved in organizing emergency medical assistance for the injured workers from India. Officials of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine are regularly updated about the status of the victims," the statement concluded.
As a reminder, a criminal case was previously initiated in connection with this incident under Article 257 of the Criminal Code (violation of labor protection regulations).
